Miami Dolphins (@7.0) vs Dallas Cowboys (@1.1)

Our Prediction:

Dallas Cowboys will win

Miami Dolphins – Dallas Cowboys Match Prediction | 22-09-2019 13:00

The ball wasnt thrown perfectly, and when the defender gave Dez a slight push in the back, the receiver wasnt in position to make a play, and the ball was intercepted, which effectively ended the game. On the Cowboys' ensuing drive, Matt Cassel threw a third-down deep ball to Bryant in the end zone, who was running a post route and was matched one-on-one with a Tampa Bay safety.

Lets take a look at the schedule. Trading veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill to the Tennessee Titansand not moving up to draft a quarterback in the first round, should give you an idea of what this season will look like. The Miami Dolphins are in flux as the organization seems to be in full rebuild mode following a (7-9) 2018 campaign. Little to no offensive firepower was gained in the offseason, let alone the questionable signing of journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick. On defensethe Dolphins hope to improve under new Head Coach Brian Flores, but will struggle with key departures. In recent news, Josh Rosen was acquired via trade with the Arizona Cardinals as a possible alternative QB option for the upcoming season. Trading DE Robert Quinn in the offseason as well asother questionable movesshow that there is a long term plan in place, not likely producing a winner anytime soon.

The team struggled running the ball (30th in the league in yards rushing) and Dalvin Cooks inability to stay healthy hurts, but the team added some fresh young legs in the draft with Boise States Alexander Mattison. Mike Zimmers defense played well, but the offense struggled despite having one of the best wide receiver tandems in the league in Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen. The Vikings are strapped for cap space as they have a lot of money spread out to several different players, including paying a premium price for quarterback Kirk Cousins.

And when you take into account that wide receiver Cooper Kupp is coming back, the Rams should be locked and loaded for another big run. The Rams defense has taken a hit in recent years after losing edge rusher Robert Quinn last year and then safety Lamarcus Joyner this offseason. Head coach Sean McVay has done a good job finding replacements as 2015 no. 3 overall pick Dante Fowler and six-time Pro Bowler Eric Weddle are on the team.

NFC East

Martin and his linemates will have their hands full dealing with Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. Zack Martins play early in the year didnt live up to the standard that he set in his All-Pro rookie season, but he seems to have settled in over the last few weeks as the offensive line has played better as a whole.

Most of his production came in the final three quarters of the game, and he will be looking to continue the trend of productivity in efforts to disrupt the Cowboys offense. Suh was a prized free-agent signing this offseason for the Dolphins, but for most of the year, he had failed to meet the expectations placed on him. In the Week 10 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Suh finally lit up the stat sheet, finishing with 10 tackles, one sack, four tackles for loss and three quarterback hits.

Not only that, but the Cowboys have one of the youngest teams in the league and every new year brings about more valuable experience. The team also will get two of their former All-Pros back as Travis Frederick and Jason Witten are making their triumphant returns after missing all of last season. They were a good football team last season and you have to be excited about the net gain the team has had over the offseason. Make no mistake about it - this Cowboys team is going to win a lot of football games in 2019. Additions like Robert Quinn and Randall Cobb outweigh losses like Cole Beasley and Damien Wilson. The Dallas Cowboys are a good football team.

The team didnt add much in terms of draft picks as past trades left them short on draft capital, but Chicago is still growing from previous pieces added as players like Mitchell Trubisky and Khalil Mack continue to make their impact felt. The Bears didnt do much to upgrade the team, but they didnt lose much either. The loss of safety Adrian Amos may sting a little as he had a great season last year.

And the last time the Eagles played Seattle was in 2017 when the Seahawks beat them 24-10, handing them one of their three losses that year. The Falcons struggled last season, but they still have a talented roster which should make for a tough game for Philly. The Eagles get the Atlanta Falcons and Seattle Seahawks, which arent gimmes by any means.

Detroit Lions

The wild card factor for Haskins lowers the confidence level a tad, but the Cowboys still have a reasonable shot at sweeping them this year. Something tells me that wont be the case this season. The Redskins have a sneaky way of giving the Cowboys trouble, even when theyre outmatched. Win confidence: 80% (x 2 games) = 1.6 wins. Washington is the Cowboys Week 17 opponent this year and over the last three seasons, this has been a meaningless game for them.

It is unclear whether Claiborne will be able to return from his hamstring and ankle injuries by this weekend, but the other three either participated in Wednesdays practice, even if on a limited basis, or in the case of Church, have shown they can play a game on Sunday even if they dont practice on Wednesday in order to rest an injury. These injuries mean one thing: The Cowboys are short on healthy bodies in the secondary on defense.
