Our Prediction:

Inter will win

Inter – Lazio Match Prediction | 26-09-2019 15:00

A title seems quite a way off still, but their fans will be feeling good right now thanks to their overall play. There is a lot to like about the way that Inter have started the season, and if they can somehow keep this going then there is every chance that they can pull a little closer towards the likes of Juventus and Napoli in the title race.

Lazio won UEFA Cup Winners Cup in 1999, with the team beating Mallorca in the title game. The same year they managed to clinch the UEFA Super Cup trophy as they outplayed English giants Manchester United at Stade Louis II, Monaco. The two teams face each other in the Derby della Capitale and it is considered the fiercest inter-city derby in Italy.

Meanwhile, Lazio ended a three-game winless streak with a routine success against Parma on Sunday night. That home victory followed up back to back away losses at Cluj and SPAL. They are hoping for a place in the top four this season, having fallen short in every campaign under Simone Inzaghi. At least the manager has eased the pressure on himself for the time being.

The home team is unbeaten at their own turf for the past eight bouts. Moreover, they have lost only two clashes in the previous ten overall home matches in major competitions. Being the table-toppers at the early start of the season may not seem stable for many, but the hosting contingent is in a very good form in recent times. Besides that, the traveling side has lost the previous two away fixtures in their schedule.

Inter Milan vs Lazio Prediction

The Nerazzurri are brimming with confidence following a 2-0 win over Milan in the Derby della Madonnina and Antonio Contes troops will be looking to retain top position in the standings with a win over Lazio on Matchday 5. Summer signing Romelu Lukaku has been scoring goals for fun at the start of the new Serie A season and we predict that the former Manchester United man is going to prove a handful for the opposition defenders. All eyes will be on Stadio Giuseppe Meazza when Inter and Lazio face each other in the Serie A derby on Wednesday evening.

The Biancocelesti are historically bad when it comes to facing their big rivals. Last term Lazio picked up just three points from 24 against the top four. They are measuring themselves against the vert best in the league, which theyve been poor at over the years. Of course, Lazio could be under pressure again given the magnitude of this trip. They also lost at six of the top seven.

For the upcoming match, they will try to play as they did a month ago when their defence was the better part of the team. Lazio is still searching a proper form. Their last match was in the opening round of the Europa League and they also lost that one 2-1, again as the visitors against CFR Cluj. After a good start and win in the first round of the Serie A, they played 1-1 in a city derby against Roma and finally, theyve lost 2-1 against Spal as the visiting team.

Lazio has also managed to concede less as they let in only three goals while scored seven in the process. They have won two games in the league so far along with a draw and a loss each. Inter will be hosting Lazio in their third home match of the season in the Seria A games. The Eagles are five points behind the host in the table. Lazio will be visiting with a loss in their previous away game.

The player to keep an eye for is their striker Ciro Immobile who is the second top scorer of the Serie A with 3 goals, plus he assisted once so far. Two players are still injured in the visiting team, Jordan Lukaku and Jorge Silva are both ruled out of this match, and that is a potential problem for the backline.

Today's Tips

They are unbeaten in the last 5 clashes in front of their fans, where they won 4 and drew 1 match. So far they had a perfect start with 3 wins from 3 matches. Theyve beaten all 3 opponents quit easily, and scored in the first half of all those matches. Their last match was in Champions League where they surprisingly played just 1-1 on their pitch against Slavia Prague. Inter awaits this clash with an idea to win one more game in a row and to stay at the top of Serie A.

The big questions will be asked though when they face tougher opposition like here, their only game against a decent team so far ended in a 1-1 draw in their derby game with Roma. Lazio have started well enough, recording wins on the opening day of the season and last weekend, with a draw and a defeat sandwiched in between those.
